2019 Ohio Aquaculture Association Conference

Join us for the annual OAA conference, held at the Quest Conference Center in Columbus, Ohio. Registration opens Friday, Jan 25th at 12:00, with speakers presenting from 1:00-4:00.  The annual OAA meeting will be held from 4:00-5:00.  The Social and Banquet will be from 5:00-7:30.  On Saturday, registration and breakfast will begin at 8:00, with presentations running from 9:00 to 4:00.

If you would like to reserve a room at the discounted rate, rooms are available at the Four Points by Sheraton, 8505 Pulsar Place, Columbus, Ohio. Please call 614-844-5888 to reserve a room under the group name Ohio Aquaculture Association. Reservations must be made by Jan. 13th to get the group rate.

Tickets must be purchased by Jan. 11th to get the discounted price.  After Jan. 11, tickets will be full price.  Registration for the conference will end on Jan. 19th.

Fish Health Workshop

Presented by the Ohio Aquaculture Association, the Ohio State University South Centers Aquaculture Boot Camp, and the USDA's North Central Regional Aquaculture Center. The day will consist of both formal presentations and hands-on experience covering topics on fish dissection and information all farmers should know to assess fish health, best management practices in fish health and biosecurity, disease prevention, and stress management.

OAA/ABC-2 Bus Tour

Join the OAA and ABC-2 for a tour of 3 aquatic culture facilities on Saturday, October 27th.  Stops will include Brehm's Perch Farm (pond culture in West Liberty), Oasis Aqua Farm (organic aquaculture in Beavercreek), and Jones Fish Hatcheries and Distributors (fish stocking, lake and pond management in Cincinnati).  This is a great opportunity to visit various types of aquaculture businesses and talk directly to their operators, and also network with friends and fellow culturists.

Advanced Aquaponics Workshop: Application for Commercial Production

Gain an improved understanding of industry trends, system design and engineering, economics and marketing, regulatory compliance requirements and aquaponic system management techniques with specific focus on the major revenue generator – the plants.  Participants will earn a certificate of completion and receive a USB flash drive with instructor presentations and workshop resources.
